Why do my posts need to be checked by a Mod before they become publically seen? I know I'm a cunt but thats a bit harsh!

The site has stayed spam free since we upgraded but the bots have finally found us and are trying to post their junk again.One made it through the forum software yesterday because i had the security features set to general mode,but i have now had to make some changes to prevent it happening again.
Posting approval should only be needed by new members and new registered users,but if it is affecting other user ranks and groups i will look into now and fix it.
